Tahitian Vanilla Almond Milk (Paleo, Whole30)

June 18, 2018

Vanilla Almond Milk Flatlay

While I was doing my Whole30’s I tried to drink black coffee. How hard could it be?? Well, it turns out that I don’t like the taste of black coffee! So, I hunted around for compliant almond milk. I found one of the Whole30 approved brands at a local grocery store, but not all of my local stores carry it, so I found myself making special trips just for creamer. I thought this was silly given that I almost always have almonds at home. So I started making my own almond milk at home. And it turns out that it’s easy to make, creamy and delicious! And did I mention that it’s dairy-free, sugar-free, gluten-free and additive-free?? Yep…

But why make plain almond milk when you could make Tahitian Vanilla Almond Milk…a fun twist on plain almond milk!

You’ll just need a few simple tools to make this magical milk (or are they calling it Almond beverage now?)…

  1. Raw, organic almonds….this is the branch I buy in bulk from Amazon: Wild Soil Almonds
  2. Vanilla Bean pods…I prefer this brand: Vanilla Products USA
  3. A blender
  4. Cheese cloth, a linen towel or a nut milk bag. I invested in this organic cotton nut milk bag because it’s sturdy and can be used for straining bone broth or iced coffee too: Organic Family Products

Once you have your ingredients and tools assembled, you can get to it. It’s as simple as soaking the nuts (I like to soak them overnight), rinsing the nuts, blending the nuts and a vanilla bean pod and the straining the whole thing! Easy right???

If you make this recipe please let me know in the comments section below! I would love to hear that you think! Or take a photo and tag me @wholepaleoeats on Instagram. I love seeing your photos!
